The User groups page lets you organize users into meaningful segments and cohorts based on shared characteristics, behaviors, or business context. User groups make it easier to analyze different cohorts of users throughout Nebuly. They can represent organizational structures, customer segments, usage patterns, proficiency levels, subscription plans, or any other grouping that is relevant to your application. Groups can also be hierarchical, allowing you to organize users into parent groups with nested subgroups.

User group fields

By default, the table includes the following fields:
  • User group: the name of the user group.
  • Refreshed at: when the group membership was last updated.
  • Created at: when the user group was created.
  • Number of users: the total number of users currently assigned to the group.
Nested groups can be expanded or collapsed directly from the table.

User Groups Actions

Select a user group to open the Users page filtered to that group. From there, you can explore the users that belong to the group and continue investigating their interactions and conversations.

Create a user group

Click Create user group to define a new user segment. Provide a name for the group and configure its membership based on your desired criteria. Once created, the group becomes available throughout Nebuly for filtering, reporting, and Live Data analysis. Create dynamic user groups based on how users interact with your AI application. Groups update automatically as users match (or no longer match) the selected conditions.

Available conditions

Activity
  • Number of conversations
  • Number of interactions
  • Activity frequency (per day, week, or month)
  • Time period (last N days, weeks, or months)
Conversation
  • Number of conversation turns
  • First interaction (date and topic)
  • Last interaction (date, topic, and tags)

Combine conditions

You can combine multiple conditions using AND to build more specific user groups. Example Users who:
  • Had more than 10 conversations in the last 30 days, and
  • Whose last interaction has the “Escalated” tag.

Refresh user groups

Click Refresh all to update the membership of every user group. Refreshing recalculates each group’s users based on its current definition, ensuring that reports and Live Data always reflect the latest user assignments.

Manage a user group

Open the Actions menu next to a user group to manage it. The available actions are:
  • Rename: change the name of the user group.
  • Edit: modify the group’s filter definition to change which users belong to it.
  • Refresh: recalculate the group’s membership using its current filter definition, ensuring it reflects the latest user data.
  • Delete: permanently remove the user group from Nebuly. Deleting a user group does not delete the users or their associated interactions and conversations.
